Overview
Skyports Infrastructure reached operational completion of the UK's first vertiport at Bicester Motion, Oxfordshire on June 4, 2025. The 0.42-acre facility includes a 160-square-meter passenger terminal, weight/balance optimisation, identity validation and screening, a dedicated passenger lounge, and Skyports' Vertiport Automation System (VAS) for real-time scheduling. It is a key output of the UKRI-backed Advanced Mobility Ecosystem Consortium (Future Flight Challenge) and will serve as a living lab for eVTOL ground infrastructure and flight operations testing. Demonstration flights of Vertical Aerospace's VX4 prototype are planned for 2026 as part of the ORAT (Operational Readiness and Testing) phase.
